As we say goodbye to the summer months and usher in the fall season let’s get excited about all the things to come this month for Troop 1187 and the Black Hills Area Council.
Pilgrimage Hike: The weekend of September 10th. This year we will be hiking the Lincoln Trail, which is a strenuous 5hr hike, and camping at Sheridan Lake. Plan on leaving the church on Friday at approx 6pm. This will also include the Scout Surge on 9/11, a national Scout remembrance held to honor those lost on September 11th, 2001. School Night for Scouting: Will be held at local elementary schools on Thursday, September 16th. Click here if you need to print out flyers for your school.
Fall Product Sales Begins: Its that time of year again, when you see Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts heading door-to-door and greeting you at local businesses as they sell their delicious popcorn. Sales run from September 25th through October 24th. Click here for more information.
Court of Honor: Let’s celebrate the advancement of all the Scouts in the Troop! This month we will have our post-summer Court of Honor on Monday, September 20th at 7pm. Make sure to wear your Class A uniform so we can all look our best as we celebrate everyone’s achievements.
Committee and PLC Meetings: Because of the Court of Honor this month our normal meeting times will be off a bit. The first Committee Meeting will still be held on Monday, September 6th, at 6:00pm. But the second Committee Meeting and PLC Meeting will be held on Monday, September 27th, at 6:00pm. Please update your calendars accordingly.
