We’re already one month into 2011 and the events just keep pouring on.
Never say this Troop doesn’t know how to have fun and participate in a lot of activities that will stimulate the mind, body, and soul.
Grab your calendars and make sure you don’t miss a minute of this month’s action!
Winter Fun Day: More than just “one day”, this will actually be a full blown winter campout and ice fishing weekend. It will be the weekend of February 4th-6th at MMSR. We will be leaving the church at 5:30pm on Friday and returning on Sunday by approximately 11am (so you won’t miss the Super Bowl). For those Scouts working on the Camping Merit Badge this would be a great opportunity to complete the required participation in a winter campout. More information will be sent out via email and discussed at our weekly meetings.
Scouting Anniversary Week: Scouting’s anniversary is February 8th which means the entire week is devoted to celebrating all things Scouting. The major events this week include Scout Sunday on February 6th, Scout Sabbath on February 12th, and the Black Hills Area Council Scouting Anniversary Hike in Custer on February 12th. Spaghetti Dinner: The Troop is planning a fundraiser and will be holding a Spaghetti Dinner at our normal meeting location on Sunday, February 13th. Additional times for cooking, setting up, etc will be made available at our Troop meetings and via email.
Pack 74 Crossover: Pack 74 will be holding their Crossover Ceremony on Friday, February 18th, and their Annual Pinewood Derby on Saturday, February 19th. Scouts will be asked to attend to show our support for our future Scouts. More information will be available in the future. Check back for updates.
Den Chief Training: To be held on Saturday, February 19th. More information will be available in the future. Check back for updates.
Boy Scout Leader Specific Training: To be held on Saturday, February 19th. More information will be available in the future. Check back for updates.
Terry Peak Day Trip: This is tentatively on our calendar for Saturday, February 26th, and more information will be made available as plans are finalized.
Troop and Committee Meetings: All regular meeting times/locations for this month’s Troop and Committee Meetings.
